About Amy Byrne Counseling
I have been working in therapeutic settings since 1995. I started my career in substance abuse treatment and moved on to work in education. I currently work with adults to move toward effective change.
I began private practice in 2004. I have extensive experience in working with Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and substance abuse. I collaborate with psychiatrists in the area.
My treatment modality is psychodynamic based in Rogerian therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I believe in a client-centered, collaborative approach and creating an environment for growth.
Change occurs in a supportive environment that encompasses the whole person and all of the life experiences. I collaborate with clients to create long term change for more productive and healthy lives. I believe that recovery is possible for all persons with an effective support system.
